Cupcakes!

We still haven't booked our cupcakes! I got such a sour taste for wedding stuff after all the drama we've had to deal with vendors. From venue to photo to cupcakes and church, we've had a "miss-communication" with all of it. But now I'm back in the game!

We've booked a photographer: Paperwhite Photography, Eric Slay
Check him out, he takes amazing photos.

We are on the verge of booking a videographer: Jason at Garner Films
Check him out. Possibly the most beautiful wedding trailers, you will ever see.

Now I'm back to cupcakes:

Miss Priss has good prices and great reviews. I'm going to contact them later to see if they are available. Wish me luck.

map

I love love this map!

This could totally work for downtown Long Beach. I found this via A Lucky Orchid Wedding.

Photographer booked!!!

Whew! Wonderful Wise Wendy found this super awesome photographer for her wedding two years ago and shared her wisdom with us! Yesterday we met with Eric Slay, who showed us the most beautiful wedding photos that were also joyful and fun.

He shoots in raw. He gives us the photos. He understands the importance of capturing the day. He loves what he does. He is professional. He just gets it!

Check him out:

Shopping

I don't know if any of you have discovered this before, but I'm just learning about ShopStyle.com.

Apparently, you can just type in a color or a type of clothing or accessory and it will search other sites for you. It is totally awesome.

Blue Satin Shoes

I'm totally going to wear colorful shoes. I hate white shoes. I never wear them, why do I have to wear them on one of the most important days of my life? I don't, so I choose blue...or purple. hehe

I have an idea of what I want my shoes to look like, but I have not found them yet.

Here is a start.

These are from MaxStudio.com

save the dates are in progress

Joelle is doing a fabulous job on our save the dates! Oliver and I just need to photograph ourselves and then give her the pics. My goal is to have them out by the end of this month and since it is June 27, I bet get working...

Ours will not look like this, but I like the idea of the tag.

BTW

I bought my dress! :)

Colorful Bridesmaids

Now this was my original idea, to place the bridesmaids in different colors, and I think I'm going back to it!

I found this place, called Aria Bridesmaid and they have a dress that will compliment my dress and will come in all the colors I want! Check out the sweetheart neckline one.

Yeah!

Let's see:
Mercy in gold
Jasmine in green
Maegan in pink
Wendy in purple
Jessica in blue
and Joelle and Jenn in black

I'm a fan!

pics

This couple named their tables after their favorite albums. They used the picture of the album on the face card of the placeholder for their guests to pick up. We could do this with the Beatles.

On another note: I love the way these laterns look. It won't work for my wedding but it is still beautiful.

Whew!!!!!!

Cooper Arms

I spoke with the Cheryl from the Cooper Arms today (562) 436-3953.
She said the cost of the rental is $1500 plus $15 an hour for a guard. So it's looking closer to $1600 (As far as we know guests are not allowed in the courtyard and a deposit of $1500 is required).

I want to ask:
What are the noise restrictions?
Do they move the furniture?
Can we use the piano?

We can try to work out an arrangement with the 555 Building for Parking.
I need to try calling the 555 Restaurant for the number (562) 437-0626 of Standard Parking
(Cheryl recommends we have a sign for parking for guest).

We are going to meet with Melissa from Summit Catering and see what we can fit into our budget. BBQ here we come! :)
(Cheryl said the caterer can use the alley for their truck and the lobby for their set-up)

Women can be amazing!

I'm a fan of this simple table setting.

This woman turned her $68 Target dress into a wedding gown.

All this was found via a $10,000 wedding.
